What is trendy this summer? What are the must-have items to incorporate into your wardrobe? We cross checked fashion authorities like Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar with Google trends to give you a solid insight into what spring/summer 2015 styles are truly stand-out this season.
So you thought jumpsuits were still a relic of the 70ies? They are making a big comeback! “Jumpsuit dress,” “jumpsuit for women,” and “jumpsuits online” were all breakout search terms. Google labels terms “breakout” when the term experienced growth greater than 5000%. In April, Vogue had a feature story about shopping with Azealia Banks – and yes, she bought and was photographed in a jumpsuit. 2. Jogger Pants
Yes, the trend towards comfort continues pasts jumpsuits and into the realm of joggers. A lost relic of the 80ies, you say? Harper’s Bazaar calls this trend a fusion between “sporty and chic,” and people seem to be loving it according to Google. Just check out this graph that shows a massive spike in search volume for “jogger pants” in 2015. It seems like it is heading for a downswing, though, so if you’ve been dying to try out this trend do it now!
3. Kimono Everything

Kimono are being remixed and re-popularized in a big way this summer. You can find anything from smart kimono inspired jackets to kimono-styled blouses and cardigans to full-length kimono overcoats this season. The full sleeves and prints inspired by traditional Japanese art are seen from Gucci’s 2015 Spring/Summer runway to the racks at Nordstroms. Google Trends agrees, listing “kimono cardigan,” “kimono jacket” and “kimono top” as all breakout search terms.
